Tuscan Old World/Mediterranean Style Hints
Use Natures Colors and Nature's Color Combinations!
Think golden olive oil, creamy stucco walls in an old building, luscious green olives or the
rich burgundy of aged wine and you have some possibilities for old world neutrals. Use
terra cotta as a neutral, as a Mediterranean accent color and for everything in between.
Use a tapestry wall hanging or painting as your color guide when selecting Mediterranean
style wall color.
Bold simplicity, textural contrasts, earthy colors, stone and tile are key Italian design
elements when creating an old world Mediterranean style living space.
Tuscan Style Kitchen Accessories
Tuscan style kitchen accessories are as beautiful as they are functional. Celebrate the
functionality of the Tuscan kitchen. Create kitchen work areas filled with Tuscan style

| TIP OF THE WEEK Ceilings are Important! Paint a ceiling other than white. It gives the room warmth and interest. It is a common misconception that ceilings painted in darker colors will make the room feel closed in. Actually, the opposite effect is achieved. A white ceiling can be very jarring. Painting the walls and the ceiling a similar or the same hue will make the room seem larger. |
